"Decentralized," "mesh," and "peer-to-peer" show up everywhere. Here's what they mean without the jargon.
Decentralized = no single boss
Instead of one company or server controlling the system, many nodes share the work. If one fails, the rest keep going. Think community Wi‑Fi or mesh networks instead of a single ISP.
Why it matters
- Resilience – Outages and censorship are harder when there’s no single point of failure.
- Privacy – Traffic doesn’t have to flow through one company’s pipes.
- Choice – You can participate in building and running the network.
What we'll cover
Future posts will break down mesh Wi‑Fi, LoRa, and how to get started with local, decentralized tech.
